Guitarist Beau Burchell broke the news: “After 5 years with Cove, we have decided to part ways. So it will be a new experience for us, not knowing what to expect in the vocal dept, who will replace him, or if we will even find a replacement this century.”

Burchell also revealed that the four remaining members have been working on new material: Well, a few days ago, Alex, Justin, Chris and I got back into the studio for our first group writing/jam session. We have all been writing things on our own, but it was cool to get into a room and play with loud *** amps all together again. I am very excited about this record, for a few different reasons.

“I have been so busy producing and mixing bands lately, and i love it. Finally getting back in the swing of things, so it will be a miracle if i can rip myself away from other projects long enough to finish a Saosin record.

“We have no label, which means we can do whatever we want. We dont [sic] have to worry about outputting garbage singles that none of us believe in, or selling records. Its [sic] going to be nice.. just like the days of TTN.”

Saosin have just unveiled a new webisode on their Youtube channel. The webisode is the first in a series of webisodes to come that follows the band during in-store signings, performances, radio interviews and fan events.

The first webisode finds the band at a PacSun in-store signing, in Newport Beach, CA from September. After the signing fans were then treated to an acoustic performance from the band and a free Saosin shirt. Guitarist Beau describes the event “We played some songs we’d never played, some songs we’d never rehearsed, and some older songs”.

Saosin are currently on the PacSun tour through December with Eye Alaska and Inner Party System.

Saosin announced that they’ll be heading out on tour starting next week for an extended fall tour across the country in support of their Butch Walker produced album In Search of Solid Ground, which was released last month. The tour, sponsored by clothing retailer PacSun kicks off November 11th in LA and runs through December 20th.

The first single “Changing” is already #1 at specialty radio and is impacting modern rock radio now. You can hear the song using the link below:

Deemed by Alternative Press Magazine one of the most anticipated releases of 2009, In Search of Solid Ground is the follow-up to Saosin’s 2006 self-titled full-length debut, which bowed at No. 22 on The Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart.

Newport Beach rockers Saosin have revealed the track list for their upcoming second album In Search Of Solid Ground, which is due for release on September 8.

The band worked with a variety of producers while recording the album. Butch Walker produced five songs, as did band members Beau Burchell and Chris Sorenson, while Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann and Matt Squire protege Lucas Banker also contributed to the effort.

While Saosin have been busy recording their follow up to 2006′s self-titled album, they did find the time to sit down with Myspace to chat about the new record.

No official dates have been release yet, but the band is hoping to have the album out by June.
