Tracii Guns performed with L.A. Guns at the Dean Guitars NAMM Jam event at the Anaheim Grove, Jan 15th. Tracii was phenomenal! His style of playing has never been better, never missed a note, not sure what dean he was playing, but that thing screamed! The two Marshall half stacks helped pump out the chunky riffs and whaling leads. I’ve always been a fan of L.A. Guns, but to me Tracii has been their shinning star, I love his style and stage presence and I think he’s truly become a guitar icon in the music world. P.S. was really nice seeing Vinnie Paul there too ; )

Revolver magazine will present the “Dean Guitars 2010 NAMM Jam” concert — featuring COLLECTIVE SOUL, L.A. GUNS, as well as members of SLAYER, ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, and more — on January 15 at The Grove Of Anaheim in Southern California. Tickets for this special show, hosted by Vinnie Paul Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN, HELLYEAH), will be given away to Winter NAMM attendees during the annual music conference held at the Anaheim Convention Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music starting at 7 p.m..

Revolver magazine will have a booth at the show where it will be giving away free copies of the January/February 2010 PANTERA “Vulgar Display Of Power” commemorative issue, celebrating guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott five years after his death. The issue — otherwise only available on newsstands through February 22 — features a stark and powerful cover illustration of the classic 1992 album cover photo by renowned and award-winning graphic illustrator Tim Bradstreet (The Punisher, Hellblazer, “Vampire: The Masquerade”). Each copy of Revolver’s “Vulgar Display Of Power” issue includes a special memorabilia pack with a replica of a “Vulgar Display Of Power” tour backstage laminate and concert ticket, a PANTERA show flyer, and sticker.

In addition to L.A. GUNS and headliners COLLECTIVE SOUL, the “Dean Guitars 2010 NAMM Jam” will feature performances from TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION, Uli Jon Roth & Friends, Michael Angelo Batio and Carmine Appice’s SLAMM. CARLSBAD, Calif., December 21, 2010—The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced just some of the many stars and events that will make up the world-famous NAMM Show, which will take place in Anaheim, Calif., Jan 14-17, 2010, at the Anaheim Convention Center. The trade-only and highly exclusive NAMM Show is one of the longest-running and largest events in the music world, featuring thousands of the latest musical instruments and products, amazing live music at every turn and the biggest names and brightest minds from the international music products industry.

At the 2010 show, attendees will be able to see such greats as Quincy Jones, Yoko Ono, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, Eddie Van Halen, Jason Mraz, Chad Smith, Nikki Sixx, Vince Gill, Orianthi, Weird Al Yankovic, Stevie Wonder, Sara Bareilles, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Peter Frampton.

Additionally, TV stars, including actress and country singer Julianne Hough from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and actor Jesse Spencer from FOX’s House, will be on hand to perform and talk about their passion for making music.

The NAMM Show starts each morning with live music from many exciting and diverse acts. On Thursday, the show kicks off with the 40th anniversary of the Petiot All-Industry Marching Band who will join forces with the Get a Life Marching Bandfrom Portland, Ore., a group of passionate seniors who love playing music just for fun, to lead the parade.

On Friday, the raucous Wicked Tinkers will open the show with plenty of energetic Celtic music. That evening, the NAMM Icon Jam takes center stage and features a variety of music legends, including Alan White, Lee Oskar, Liberty DeVito, Peter Tork and more.

Saturday opens with the 350-piece Los Angeles Unified School District’s All-City Marching Band thundering up Convention Way in front of the Anaheim Convention Center. Then, the U.S. Airforce’s Mobility band will take the main lobby stage. In the afternoon, NAMM will present the finals of the SchoolJam USA teen battle of the bands competition, featuring a performance by Jive Recording artists, The Dares. That evening, Michael Jackson guitarist Orianthi will play a special concert on the main lobby stage, presented by PRS Guitars.

Steel Pan Palooza will kick off the last day of the show and later, the final act on the main lobby stage will be GRAMMY-Award winners, The Mariachi Divas. Also on Sunday, Roland Corporation will present a performance by renowned contemporary Christian artist Andrae Crouch.

NAMM has announced several new features designed to enhance its winter show in 2010, which take place at the Anaheim Convention Centre, California, from January 14th to 17th.

In addition to the more than 40 free educational sessions offered in NAMM’s Idea Center, the association will feature an exciting new HOT (Hands-on Training) zone, where attendees can attend training seminars, meet face-to-face with product designers, network with installers and technical contractors, and receive one-on-one mentoring from experts from organisations such as Technologies for Worship Magazine, the MIDI Manufacturers Association, Worship Leader magazine, FOH magazine, WFX, the Chamber of Commerce Association, Christian Music magazine, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and many others.

NAMM and Core Apps are working to bring NAMM show attendees an exciting new mobile application called Follow Me, designed to enhance the trade show experience beyond anything else available on a smart phone. Unique features that include linking attendees to each others’ schedules, an interactive show schedule and floor maps with routing to booths, social media interaction, and the ability to download e-brochures from the exhibitors, thus eliminating the need to carry around large bags filled with literature.

Follow Me also delivers e-coupons and discounts from local restaurants and attractions.

On the Saturday of the show, the finals of the first annual School Jam USA competition will take place. Attendees can come outside to watch the top high-school bands battle it out for big prizes for the bands and their schools’ music programmes on the Wanna Play? stage, in front of the Anaheim Arena Plaza. The event promises to be a good time and filled with special celebrity guest appearances.
